VERNA: An unidentified man aged between 40 and 50 years was found dead at Queeny Circle, Upasnagar, Sancoale, on Thursday, prompting an inquiry by Verna Police.
According to police, information was received at around 2.19 pm from a doctor at the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Cansaulim, stating that an unknown male had been brought dead to the health facility by 108 ambulance personnel after he was found lying at Queeny Circle.
During preliminary inquiries, police learned that the deceased had reportedly been seen loitering in the Birla village area prior to being found unconscious.
Police subsequently conducted an inquest panchanama and preserved the body at South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for post-mortem examination and other medico-legal formalities.
Efforts are underway to ascertain the identity of the deceased and determine the exact cause of death.
Further inquiry is being conducted by PSI Mahesh Bhomkar of Verna Police Station.
