MARGAO: An unidentified man aged around 40 to 45 years was found dead near Cine Lata in Margao on Saturday, police said.
According to Margao Town Police, information was received from the casualty police at South Goa District Hospital, Margao, stating that the man had been brought dead to the casualty ward by a 108 emergency ambulance after he was found lying near Cine Lata.
During preliminary enquiry, police learned that the deceased was reportedly a beggar, scrap collector and an alcoholic who had been sleeping on the footpath in the Cine Lata area for the past few days.
The identity and residential details of the deceased are yet to be established. The body has been preserved at South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for further medico-legal formalities.
Further enquiry is being conducted by LPSI Aanushka Parab of Margao Town Police Station.
