PANAJI: Reacting to allegations leveled by BJP leader Urfan Mulla, against leader of opposition Digambar Kamat, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Spokesperson Amarnath Panajikar said that Mulla is trying to tarnish the image of Congress leader for vested interest.
“He betrayed Congress and joined BJP for vested interest. Now he has no moral right to speak against our leader. He should have raised the issue when he was in Congress.” He said.
He said that Congress party never speaks about internal affairs of BJP, then why BJP is trying to peep in Congress.
In an apparent jibe at Urfan Mulla, Congress leader Panjikar said that those who addressses before media should have knowledge, maturity, discipline and intellectuality. “Urfan Mulla should first think whether he could be loyal to any party.” Panjikar said.
He said that if BJP’s leader feels that a mining scam of 35 thousand crore has happened, then they should act against those involved.
Panajikar while speaking over the alliance of Congress, said that officially they have not allied with any party. “Actually BJP is in frustration mode as present situation is against them and they know that if opposition comes together then they will get defeated in elections.
Reacting to the allegations by BJP leader Urfan Mulla against Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat saying the latter is ‘finishing Congress in the state, Niazi Sheikh, Congress Minority Leader, said that Mulla is trying to malign Congress for personal benefits.
“Muslim community is with Congress, because it is not communal. We stand with Congress because it is a secular party. Impression created by minority leader of BJP that Muslim community is with them is wrong.” Sheikh said.
