PONDA: United Tribal Association Alliance (UTAA) President Prakash Velipsaid Mhadei river in distress as also farming , eco sensitive zones and environment is in great danger.
Centre should take this issue serious and give justice to Goa. Though small size it is also world tourist spot. Mhadei diversion would be tremendous blow to Goa. This is not a Poltical issue.
He also said there is need to bring pressure on central government on issue.
He declared that it will actively take part in Save Mhadei Agitation launched by Goans. He said Mhadei is lifeline of goans , We cant remain mute spectators and its time to save Mhadei.
He Urge goans to step out in save Mhadei agitation. He said before launching agitation he said the members attached to UTAA will be taken into confidence by launching Mhadei awareness drive.
UTAA Office bearers Vishwas Gaude, Durgadas Gaude, Mollu Velip, Satish Velip and others were present for press briefing.
He said with Central Government approval for DPR the Karnataka government is free to divert and construct dam.
Karnataka Ministers confidently speaking about completing its project and so Goa`s 15 lakh population should unite to fight on issue. He said the project which was sub judice cannot go forward when matter is battled in SC. DPR approval need to cancel. He said Future generations will not forgive us. This is burning issue and tasting time of Goans.
He also said that all the rightful steps of Goa government to save Mhadei will be also given support.
