VASCO: In a report sent to the Vasco police on Friday, the Mormugao Deputy Collector Bhagwant “Pratik” Karmali requested that they look into the death of Shivani Rajawat as a possible murder.
The mother, Jaidevi Chauhan, 50, and daughter, Shivani Rajawat (26), who was four and a half months pregnant, perished last month in what is believed to have been an explosion in a flat on the first floor of a building close to the Rashtroli temple in New Vaddem.
Five people have provided statements in the 19-page report that Mormugao Deputy Collector Karmali has submitted. These people include Shubham Singh Chauhan, Shivani’s brother, her husband Anurag Singh, her in-laws, and two residents of the building, the apartment owner and a neighbor.
Karmali has noted that the victim’s family members suspected foul play in her death and has asked the police to look into the case from all aspects and with all the data included in the report.
Recall that on November 18, a tragic occurrence occurred in which Shivani Rajawat and her mother Jaidevi perished in a vapour blast at their apartment at New Vaddem as a result of an LPG cylinder leak.
At first, the incident was treated as a cylinder blast. Photographic evidence, however, suggests a different conspiracy perspective to the entire matter.
