VASCO: Vasco traffic cell led by PI Shailesh Narvekar convened a joint meeting with Rent a Car and Rent a Bike operators from Vasco.
Speaking to the media, Vasco PI Shailesh Narvekar said that the meeting was convened with rising accidents involving the Rent a Car vehicles
“We have to control the situation and we decided to have a meeting to understand the issues. We have now given these operators a form with 10 points regarding offences and fines and these forms have to be given to the customers and take a signed copy from them to maintain records,” he said.
This method, he said, will ensure that every time a vehicle is given, there will be two copies of it, one with the customer and one with the vendor.
“This will also make the customer aware of do’s and don’ts of the traffic rules and violations and create an unknown mental pressure on them to drive properly on the roads. Whenever a traffic police stops any rent a car or bike, they will ask for this form from the customer and in case it is not found, we will challan the vehicle immediately,” he said.
This rule will be implemented with immediate effect. We have also informed that we will take the most stringent action if private cars are given as rent a car, said Narvekar.
