CANACONA: Even as deadline to link Aadhar Card to Ration card is extended upto 30th Sept’2023, more than 1200 Ration cards are yet to be linked to Aadhar Card in Canacona taluka.
According to Civil Supplies Inspector Ulhas Velip, the deadline for linking Aadhar Card to Ration Card has been extended till September 30, 2023. ‘Ration cards not linked to Aadhar Card will be taken up for cancellation after the deadline. Presently over 1200 ration cards remains to be linked to Aadhar Card in Canacona.’
Velip informed there are over 47,000 Ration Card holders in Canacona taluka, out of which some are abroad and still many had their ration cards suspended, whereas out of over 38000 active ration cards, about 1200 ration card holders have not linked their Aadhar Card to their respective Ration Cards.
Velip further informed that if any of the persons who are yet to link their Aadhar Card to their Ration Cards, approaches Canacona Civil Supplies office in Dy. Collectorate complex before the end of deadline (30-09-2023), it will be linked accordingly.
The 14 PDS (Public Distribution Shops) located in all the seven panchayat’s (Agonda, Gaondongrim, Khola, Khotigao, Loliem-Polem, Poinguinim, and Shristhal) and the lone Canacona Municipality Areas, were the focal points to link Aadhar Card to the Ration. In addition to this, Civil Supply Office will also carry out the linking procedure, according to Civil Supplies Inspector Ulhas Velip
