VASCO: Vasco Railway Police have registered a theft case after a woman was robbed of her belongings while travelling in a train from Hubballi to Vasco.
According to a complaint filed by Afroza Begum Hukkeri, a resident of New Vaddem, Vasco, the incident occurred in the early hours of April 23, 2026, before 2:00 AM, while she was travelling in a general coach. The theft reportedly took place between Sanvordem and Chandor railway stations.
An unknown accused allegedly stole her handbag containing a Samsung mobile phone and a pair of silver anklets with small bells, weighing approximately 250 grams. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at ₹67,000.
Police said an offence has been registered, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Krishna Talpi of Vasco Railway Police Station.
