VERNA: Verna Police have registered a case against an Activa scooter rider for allegedly riding in a rash and negligent manner and causing a serious road accident at Queenynagar, Sancoale.
As per the complaint filed by Jeelani Negaloor of Birla, Sancoale, the accident occurred on March 30, 2026 at around 10:25 pm. The accused, identified as Sanjiv Kumar, resident of Sancoale and native of Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh, was allegedly riding the Activa scooter on the wrong side of the road when he collided head-on with an oncoming KTM Duke motorcycle.
The crash reportedly left KTM rider Kiran Jadhav of Birla, Sancoale with grievous injuries, while pillion rider Basuraj Dewnal of Zuarinagar, Sancoale sustained minor injuries.
Further investigation in the case is being carried out by ASI Sudhakar Jadhav of Verna Police Station.
