CANACONA: The Canacona Block Youth Congress conducted a cleanliness drive at Patnem Beach as the tourism season nears its annual slowdown, reaffirming its commitment towards environmental protection and maintaining clean coastal spaces.
The initiative was organised at Patnem, one of the prominent municipal beaches in Canacona, with Youth Congress members and local volunteers participating in the clean-up activity.
The drive was held in the presence of Goa State in-charge and youth leader Swapnil Patil, State Vice-President Vaishnav Pednekar, South Goa District President Pralay Bhagat, NSY President Tejas Desai and several Youth Congress workers, including Ratnakar Gaonkar, Hrishikesh Pednekar, Rajat Gaonkar and Vijay Velip.
Participants collected waste and plastic litter from the beach area while spreading awareness on the importance of maintaining cleanliness and protecting Goa’s fragile coastal environment.
Speaking on the occasion, GPYC Vice-President Vaishnav Pednekar said the organisation remains committed to promoting a cleaner and greener Goa.
“Together, we are working towards building a more responsible and environmentally conscious Goa for future generations,” he said.
