PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that anti-venom serum is currently available at all district hospitals and at Goa Medical College as part of the state’s monsoon health preparedness measures.
Speaking after a disaster management review meeting, Sawant said the government is also examining the possibility of making anti-snake venom serum available at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) level to ensure quicker treatment in rural and remote areas during the monsoon season.
The Chief Minister said he would speak to the Director of Health Services regarding the availability and distribution of anti-venom serum at PHCs across the state. The move comes amid concerns over snakebite incidents typically reported during heavy rains and flooding in several parts of Goa.
