The State government has made a submission before the Bombay High Court at Goa that the decision with regards to finalization of voters list for upcoming Municipality election is expected to be taken on January 4, 2021. The submission comes, almost a week after Government informed that the notification on ward reservation will be issued three weeks prior to poll notification. The election for 11 municipal councils is likely to take place in the end of February. The five -year term of the council ended in November and are currently administered by the Administrators.

PANJIM: The elections for the post of Zilla Panchayat (ZP) Chairperson and Deputy would be held on January 08, 2021. As per information, the South Goa Chairperson post and North deputy post is reserved for women. The term will be for five years.
