Porvorim: State of the art crematorium at Porvorim was partially opened today for its operations by local MLA Rohan Khaunte, who said that the facility would be managed by ‘Serula Vaikuntdham Committee.’ Khaunte said that the facility has been partially inaugurated as its work was stalled due to COVID-19 pandemic situation. Goa Police today registered a FIR against unknown person for threatening the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The case has been registered by Panaji Police under section 504, 506 (ii), 507 and 384 of IPC following complaint from Chief Ministers office. Police informed that as per complaint received from CMO, the Chief Minister started receiving threatening calls and ransom messages from a private number on his personal number. Panaji police said the sender has demanded money ranging from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.

Sancoale Panchayat on Saturday led by Sarpanch Ramakant Broker along with PWD engineers stopped the works of laying of gas pipeline at MES college junction . PWD officials said that they had been informed about the project by the contractor but the contractor had been breaking water pipelines causing water supply issues. Panaji: Eight people lost their lives on Saturday as the COVID19 death count reached 641. However the cases repotted were just 169 and recoveries were 183. Interestingly, the tests were just 1263.
