BJP is trying to bring Porvorim in bad light in some or other way: Khaunt
Porvorim: Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte has accused BJP of trying to showcase Porvorim in bad light in some or other way. He said that bad politics and bad policing is leading to the constituency getting bad name in the recent times.
Khaunte said that the activities against the constituency have started by BJP since the time he has been out of the government. He said that BJP is trying to project Porvorim in a bad light in every possible way.
The MLA said that while he congratulates police for cracking Torda murder case, he is also surprised the way ATM was cut and taken out of the room from the thickly populated area near the Church.
He said that breaking up the ATM and taking it away in the midnight is not a joke, and also raises questionmark on the policing, which has been lowered in the areas in the name of COVID-19.
He blamed local Police Inspector for the entire law and order issue in the constituency.
Khaunte also charged Michael Lobo and his syndicate for supporting illegal structures, resulting in the law and order issues. He said that the NOC under Health Act is misused to help the illegal structures.
The MLA recalled that Succoro Sarpanch has been alleging that the problems in Porvorim has started since 2017, which is a foolish allegation.
Khaunte said that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure Law and Order in the constituency.
The MLA said that the statements made through press conferences reveal how Congress and BJP are playing the game of “Tom and Jerry.” He said that there is BJP and Congress tie up which is shown in the fact that people from Congress are talking what BJP wants as far as Porvorim is concerned.
