BOGMALO: Locals from Bogmalo-Chicolna, along with the Deputy Sarpanch and Sarpanch, complained to the PWD (water supply)about the acute water shortage during summer in the Bogmalo area. Deputy Sarpanch gives two days ultimatum to normalize the water supply to the Bogmalo area.
On Monday morning Deputy Sarpanch Sankalp Mahale and the Sarpanch of Bogmalo panchayat Lorena met PWD(water supply) engineer at the Baina PWD office. They complained about the acute water shortage faced by the Bogmalo and other nearby areas for the past four to five months.
Deputy Sarpanch Sankalp Mahale questioned that ten years back, one PWD engineer had installed a booster pump and the water supply was good back then. Still, this year the water supply is worse, and people are not receiving water from their taps for several days during the scorching summer season. “We do not even get water supply via water tankers. We met a PWD engineer who assured us to supply water within two days, and if we didn’t get water, we would not budge to bring the entire village people to the PWD office in Baina,” he said.
Later, the PWD engineer of Baina said that there was some shortage of water at Selalulim dam, and therefore it affected the water supply. He also pointed out that already proposals for better water supply pipelines have passed, and once they are replaced, then there won’t be any water shortage issue.
