MARGAO: Businessman Chirag Datta Naik made a donation of Rs 1 crore to Konkani Bhasha Mandal (KBM). The gift honors his father, Datta Damodar Naik, who was born on December 30 and turned 70.
Every other year, KBM will host a Chitrangi Melava and Samajik Parishad on progressive themes using the interest accumulated from the corpus. Additionally, the organization will provide yearly full-day workshops that center on the works of Konkani writers from the past and present.
With intentions to publish these narratives as books, the program includes a specific fund for recording the experiences of disadvantaged people who are unable to write down their stories.
Naik suggested that KBM implement Konkani exams that would be compared to the Sanskrit and mathematics exams administered by Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth in Pune, as well as the Hindi exams administered by Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti in Vardha. The five levels of the test system will be Balbodhini, Pravesh, Prabodh, Praveen, and Pandit.
Additionally, the billionaire revealed plans to set aside money to produce six to eight telefilms based on the best stories written by Konkani authors.
