MARGAO: Carmona Sports Club got the better of Raia Sporting Club 3-1 and moved into the quarter-final of the 15th Davorlim Cup org by Sporting Club Davorlim and played at Davorlim Panchayat ground on Monday.
Raia Sporting Club took an early lead in the 5th minute of the game through Garrison Fernandes’s neat placement while Carmona Sports Club got the equaliser in the dying minutes of the first half through the boots of Christern Estibeiro. Both teams remained 1-1 draw at the half time.
Changing over Raia sporting club lost control over the game and Carmona took the advantage and scored two more goals through the boots of Stanford Fernandes and Edvic Afonso in the 47th and 52nd minutes of play but Raias Belan Gomes’s shot in the 55th minutes hit the crossbar and went out of play. At the last quarter of the match, Aaren Fernandes of Carmona missed the scoring opportunity. Before the final whistle, Raias Julius Oliver’s header missed the target by whiskers.
Edvic Afonso of Carmona Sports Club awarded the man of the match at the hands of Roy Raikar.
