PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today said that in the next 8-10 days the death rate due to COVID-19 will come down.
CM also appealed to people to take viral infection symptoms seriously and seek timely medical help in a hospital, and assured that there is no shortage of medical facilities in the state.
“In the next 8-10 days the death rate due to COVID-19 will come down. I humbly request everyone to take symptoms seriously, and if observed, to immediately rush to the nearest hospital. There is no shortage of medical facilities and expertise. Delaying medical care will only decrease chances of recovery,”
Speaking further he said that doctors, nurses, house keeping staff working on contract basis at government hospitals private will be given preference for government services.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said two ‘Step Up’ hospitals would be set up in the health centres at Chicalim and Cansualim in South Goa district.
These hospitals will have minimum amenities to treat COVID-19 patients, but will not have oxygen facility.
Sawant said deputy collectors and health officers concerned are directed to assess the situation and take the initiatives to set up such hospitals in every block.
The chief minister said doctors at the primary health centres and community health centres will come together to operate such facilities.
