PONDA: Curti-Khandepar Gramsabha today decided to issue notice to its Advocate for not attending Court cases.
As he remains, absent locals expressed fear of losing twelve cases filed by Panchayat against illegal scrapyards and construction. The locals said they may go in favour of the X Party.
Locals Sandeep Parkar raise the issue. He said Advocate is not attending during Court.
Sarpanch Naved Tehsildar said it is also decided to inform Bar Council if he fails the handover documents of those cases to Panchayat.
He also expressed concern over gas lines being laid at the roadside on NH and internal roads without proper public knowledge, and it may invite major tragedy in case of unknowingly digging by the public.
The Panchayat also decided to issue notice to Ponda Municipal Council( PMC) for suddenly stopping collecting Panchayat Garbage as per HC directions.
Chandrakant Holkar, Rocky Dias and others raised several issues related to the public interest.
Curti-Khandepar Village Panchayat locals demanded to clear the illegal vendors conducting business in the Underpass of NH, obstructing traffic.
Sarpanch said Panchayat will remind NH authorities to clear the illegal gadas on NH as it comes under NH Jurisdiction.
Sarpanch said the stray cattle issue is almost solved with MoU signed, and so far, 68 cattle have been caught and sent to Siqueri Goshala. He also said the problems of locals would be solved with proper development work in Crematorium for all communities.
Sarpanch said over the past many years, PMC was collecting garbage, and as it stopped, Panchayat is spending around 12 lakhs per month on garbage collection.
It may be recalled that following there was court matter over PMC setting up its garbage disposal Plant in the Panchayat area, it was challenged by Villagers and Curti Panchayat.
The matter reached the HC, and finally, Court permitted the PMC plant. There was a condition before to collect and dispose of Panchayat garbage and Municipal garbage.
Sarpanch said PMC violated the condition after five years of the Court verdict.
He also said there would be proper assessment and tax hikes for around 56 commercial establishments in the Panchayat area.
The resolution on expressing unhappiness over Karnataka’s effort to diver Mhadei water was also passed.
