CALANGUTE: In a crackdown on liquor sale violations, excise officials from Bardez conducted a raid last night on four wine shops located near Calangute beach and Tito’s Lane.
The shops were allegedly selling liquor beyond the permissible time of 10 PM, prompting the authorities to take immediate action. The raid, which took place in the late hours of the night, is part of an ongoing effort to enforce liquor sale regulations in the area.
The excise officials booked the four wine shops for violating the liquor sale timings, which are strictly regulated to ensure public order and safety. According to the regulations, liquor sales are not permitted beyond 10 PM, and any establishment found violating this rule can face severe penalties.
To ensure compliance with the regulations, the excise department has announced that patrolling in the area will continue. This move is aimed at preventing future violations and maintaining a safe and orderly environment for both locals and tourists.
Calangute beach and Tito’s Lane are popular tourist spots known for their vibrant nightlife. However, this popularity also brings the challenge of enforcing laws and regulations to maintain public safety. The raid underscores the commitment of the authorities to uphold the law and ensure that businesses operate within the legal framework.
