Air cargo business at the Goa International Airport is showing signs of recovery post resuming flights services post lockdown.
The cargo handled at the Dabolim airport registered a month on month growth in cargo handling. Airport Authority informed that the cargo handling which was at 4 metric tons (MT) in April saw substantial increase in September- 337 MT.
In May, a total of 15 MT cargo was handled, which jumped to 136 MT in June, 162 MT in July and 234 MT in August.
“Along with more flights and increased passenger foot fall at Goa International Airport, our silent partner Cargo, also showing steady increase,” Goa Airport tweeted.
“This is a sign of positive happening in the arena of Aviation,” it added.
