PANAJI: In a significant milestone for Goa University, the women’s football team has secured a spot in the All India Inter University Football Women Championships 2024-25, scheduled to take place from January 11 to 16, 2025, at GNA University in Phagwara, Punjab. This achievement is a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication.
The team’s journey to the championships was marked by a kit distribution and farewell function held on January 6, 2025, at the Sports Section of Goa University. The event was attended by key figures including Mr. Balachandra Jadar, Assistant Director of Physical Education, Mr. Krishna Parsekar, Assistant Sports Officer, along with the team’s Coach, Mr. Ryan Pereira, and Assistant Coach, Mr. Worrel D’Souza.
The Goa University team will be represented by a talented lineup of players: Vanisha Vaz, Rizella Almeida, Janet Mesquita, Blessica Rodrigues, Anoshka D’ Souza, Rhea Pires, Sushmita Jadhav, Flani Costa, Aaroshi Govekar, Karen Estrocio, Pearl Almeida, Lysandra Rodrigues, Jovinia D’ Silva, Aniela Barretto, Vinoshka Fernandes, Pushpa Parab, Saniya Pednekar, Simran Narvekar, Tanvi Parulekar, and Tanvi D. Khedekar. Ms. Jeromina Colaco will serve as the team manager.
