Vasco: Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral on Tuesday said there was confusion with regards the port limits and he himself has asked for clarification on the issue.
Speaking to reporters in Vasco on Draft Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP), Cabral said that he has no clue about the port limits.
“I have no role to play in the MPT limit marking and I understand that the port limit was marked somewhere in 1970, when I was not even born,” he said.
Cabral said that there was a confusion over port limits and it was not clear whether the port limits shown on CZMP was MPT or Goa Port and that he himself had asked for clarity on the issue.
Further, the minister said CZMP is for demarcation of area under CRZ for disasters like tsunamis and not to show houses.
“CZMP was a plan to demarcate land as per CRZ Notifications and mark areas for disasters like tsunami and not to show houses of the people and urged people not to fall prey to anyone misguiding them,” he said.
Cabral said that while his people were accepting double tracking projects in his constituency, there could be issues in other constituency.
“The issues are mainly because people were being misguided,” he stated.
