PANAJI: The bench of Bombay High court at Goa sought to know the status of vaccine and whether Government is relying fully on Center to supply vaccines or it has plan to procure privately.
Court also asked Government to submit time frame for the vaccination.
The affidavit in this regard too has to be submitted on Thursday.
The petitioners urged Court for necessary directions to the State for door to door vaccination especially for senior citizens. High Court said Goa government to take call on this.
The Government has already announced to start mobile van vaccination drive for senior citizens, bed ridden patients and people with disability.
The State government is preparing to tackle the anticipated third wave of Covid-19, which is expected to impact the children, the State Government informed.
The Division Bench was hearing series of Petition with regards to Covid management in the State.
During the hearing, the Advocate General Devidas Pangam said that State has formed a task force and an expert panel to propose various measures and take steps to tackle the third wave of COVID-19.
He said a detail affidavit on the preparation would be filed before the Court.
The statement comes after High Court last week directed State to gear up for third wave of Covid ensuring that all the facilities including beds, medical aid, oxygen are in place.
The Expert panel has anticipated the third wave to hit in September.
Meanwhile, a fresh petition has been filed before the Court challenging government decision to make available Ivermectin medicine to all above 18 years of age as a preventive measure to fight COVID.
The petitioner contended that the medicine protocol is been followed despite World Health Organization (WHO) recommending against the use of the drug.
The bench has asked State to file a detail affidavit in this regard by May 27.
