OLD GOA: Acting on a complaint lodged by ASI Anil Dessai of Old Goa Police Station, police apprehended one person for allegedly running an illegal betting operation in a public area near Santosh Garage, Old Goa on June 09, 2026 at around 15:25 hrs.
The accused has been identified as Naveen Kumar, 38, son of Limbadari Dasari, originally from Alkonda Building No. 42, Room No. 3, Ground Floor, MR Road, Kamathipura 7th Lane, Mumbai Central, Maharashtra, and currently residing at c/o Rakesh Patil near Bangalore Bakery, Marcel, Ponda, Goa.
According to police, the accused was caught red-handed while accepting bets from members of the public on numerical figures and issuing paper slips in an open public place. During the raid, police seized cash amounting to ₹1,120 in different denominations along with other gambling-related materials from his possession.
Further investigation is being conducted by Old Goa Police Station.
