PANAJI: An interdepartmental meeting was convened at the Conference Hall in Mantralaya, Porvorim, Goa, to tackle the myriad challenges facing the state’s tourism industry. Chaired by Chief Secretary Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, the gathering brought together a diverse array of stakeholders to forge a unified strategy for enhancing the tourist experience.
The meeting was attended by a host of key officials, including Secretary Panchayat & Transport, Shri Sanjay Goel, IAS; Secretary Tourism, Shri Sanjeev Ahuja, IAS; Secretary Ports, Smt. Cheshta Yadav, IAS; SP North Goa, Akshat Kaushal, IPS; and several other departmental heads and representatives from the Excise Department, Captain of Ports, Panchayat, the Travel & Tourism Association of Goa, and both Dabolim and Mopa International Airports.
The discussions focused on streamlining administrative procedures to reduce bureaucratic hurdles, enhancing tourist facilities across various departments, and ultimately improving the overall visitor experience in Goa. The departments were urged to provide their inputs to facilitate effective decision-making and implementation, ensuring a coordinated approach to addressing the interdepartmental issues impacting tourism.
