VASCO: Senior citizens from a house in the Vidhyanagar area of Headland Sada had a miraculous escape after a sudden fire breakout at midnight.
In a shocking incident of fire breakout in the Vidhyanagar Sada area, a family of Rama Nagvekar was saved from this fire due to a short circuit on Tuesday midnight.
Speaking to the reporters, Rama Nagvekar said that
at around 2 am, his wife got up and panicked, seeing a bedsheet catching fire.
Nagwekar further added that she raised the alarm and woke him up.
“Me and my wife ran out of the house and saved our lives. Then someone pulled out two LPG cylinders from our home to avoid any blasts. We then opened up the window, but again the fire increased. Later we poured water on the fire and doused it,” he said.
Nagvekar said a loss to their property and expected the government to help him as they had nowhere to go.
Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar, who had visited the Nagvekar family, inspected the house and assured him to help them from his end.
