MAPUSA: Mapusa Police has arrested a person from Aldona on charges of abusing a youngster and his grandfather. According to reports, the youngster and the man’s son got into an argument at school, which led to the alleged attack.
The incident, according to the police, started on March 10 after a Bastora lady said that Ajit Jalmi, a resident of Sai Nagar, Aldona, had beaten and slapped her father and little son with a wooden stick.
The police clarified that the school was holding nighttime lessons because of the ongoing SSC exams. The two classmates got into an argument on Monday night that turned into a physical altercation.
The complainant’s father and the father of one of the boys got into a furious confrontation about the incident after school. Jalmi is charged with attacking the complainant’s father and the young son while in a rage.
Later that evening, the victim’s mother reported the incident to the police.
In accordance with Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act and Section 118(1) of the BNS Act, 2023, the Mapusa Police have filed a formal complaint. Police said they are conducting an inquiry.
