PANAJI: Opposition MLA’s led by Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat today have demanded with the state government for a complete 15 days lockdown with closure of all the borders, permitting entry to only essential commodity carrying vehicles.
The MLA’s also said that RT-PCR test should be made compulsory for tourists entering the state.
Eight opposition MLAs held a meeting under the leadership of Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat today to review the Covid situation in the state
“Opposition also asked the government to form Task Force to handle Covid Management and make covid negative certificate or RT-PCR test compulsory for tourists.
The MLAs demanded white paper on Covid Management, including availability of Oxygen, Ventilators, Beds and Vaccines.
”BJP Govt. has lost right to continue in power. Goa CM must resign,” said Kamat while speaking to media persons after the meeting.
“The Government must restrict the Entry of Tourists in the State of Goa by making Covid Negative Certificate compulsory with RTPCR Test. During the Lockdown period, Medical Shops may be permitted to remain open and Shops of Essential Commodities may be permitted to remain open from 6.00 am to 1.00 pm and. All other shops and establishments must remain closed,” they said
They further said that there is complete apathy on the part of the Government with regards to Vaccination Drive in the State.
The Government needs to procure Covid Vaccines on war footing and start the Vaccination Drive across the State of Goa. We strongly recommend that the Government must provide free Vaccination to all the Citizens in the State of Goa. We also recommend that Vaccination Centres must be opened at every Panchayat Level which will reduce the rush at the Public Health Centres.
