PANAJI: The Goa government has issued a final directive, stating that all PDA beneficiaries must link their ration cards to Aadhaar within 15 days or else their records will be removed from the PDA system.
In a statement released on Friday, the Department of Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs urged recipients to follow the guidelines and link their Aadhaar IDs to their ration cards.
“Within the next 15 days, the PDS beneficiaries are advised to visit their individual fair price shop and finish the e-KYC process.
Their entries from the ration card data may be suspended without further notice if they do not comply,” the department stated.
In August of last year, the process of conducting e-KYC for PDS beneficiaries was started.
“Despite reaching out to PDS beneficiaries, it is observed that many of the beneficiaries did not turn up at the fair price shop to complete their e-KYC,” claimed the department.
Only 50% of the 10.72 lakh beneficiaries, or 5.26 lakh beneficiaries, have finished their e-KYC as of right now, according to the department.
