PONDA: The citizens of Ponda today gheraoed the Sewerage Officials for slow work and long delay in completion of the Ponda Sewerage Network.
Led by Sunil Desai, the locals gheraoed the JE Pradeep Gaude at the Ponda Sewerage Department office today morning. The locals questioned the work schedule.
The locals were furious over frequent road digging and also asked the officials not to dig more chambers as they failed to complete sewerage work.
The locals pointed out that the PWD is not ready to carry out hot mix carpeting of Ponda roads, citing that the sewerage department’s work is pending.
The Official of the Sewerage Department said that the work is 95 per cent complete, and the rest pending work will be finished in January.
The rock formation underground caused the delay, officials said.
Locals questioned when there is the latest modern technology for road digging why cannot sewerage work is not completed on time.
The Citizens of Ponda warned the Officials if they further delayed the work on Sewerage Network.
