VASCO: In a significant breakthrough, the Vasco police have arrested three accused in connection with a high-profile abduction and ransom case involving two individuals from Kashmir.
The crime, registered under Vasco Police station occurred on 23rd September at Z Square, Vasco, when the complainant, Zahid Bashir Ahmed Kashoo, a resident of Lal Chowk, Basant Bahar, Srinagar, and his brother-in-law were abducted and held hostage.
The accused, identified as Shravan Motaram Chaudhary from Ghodegaon, Ambegoan, Pune, Simon Saldanha from Coastawado, Cansaulim, and Andre Manuel Fernandes from Kharewada, Vasco, were arrested
under sections 61(2), 140(3), 308(2), and 303(2) following swift investigations led by Vasco police
According to the complaint filed by Kashoo, the accused criminally conspired to lure him and his brother-in-law to Goa. Upon their arrival, they were abducted and kept confined at an undisclosed location. The accused demanded a ransom of Rs. 10 lakh for their release. Additionally, the accused also stole mobile phones belonging to the victims before fleeing the scene.
The investigation is still underway, with police pursuing further leads to identify and arrest the remaining accused, including an unknown individual involved in the crime.
