PANAJI: Goa Forward Party (GFP) has written to the Chief Justice and the High Court of Bombay judges at Goa seeking their intervention to take suo moto cognizance of the blatant corruption with respect to the Job Recruitment in the State of Goa.
“With utmost urgency to draw your attention to the corrupt state of affairs in the State of Goa concerning the artificially created vacancies in the government posts and the blatant corruption of illegally and arbitrarily filling those government vacancies and therefore, I am seeking the intervention of this Court to take suo moto cognizance and investigate the State of Affairs,” the GFP said.
He further said that one such instance has been highlighted by the MLA., Babush Monserrate, Panaji Constituency, belonging to the Bhartiya Janta Party, who levelled allegations against his own party member and P. W. D. Minister, Deepak Pausker, for dolling out jobs for a bribe consideration of Rs. 30 to 35 Lakhs depending upon the post, devoid of any consideration of merit or qualifications of the individual.
“It is further penitent to state that these allegations are not devoid of merit as many newspaper articles show that the most meritorious candidates have been arbitrarily placed low on the merit list and those individuals who have paid a hefty bribe to the PWD. This entire recruitment process is by design at the highest levels of administration, and the same is undertaken in connivance with the examination authorities and the PWD. Minister,” it said.
GFP also said that the examination conducted for the recruitment for around 300 posts is nothing but a mere farcical exercise, and the entire merit list had been rigged at the said minister’s instance. It is with the corrupt and malicious intent of the ruling Government of manipulating results to favour a few select candidates and deprive job opportunities to deserving, qualified youths.
“Needless to state, the said Minister is treating the recruitment of public jobs as private business and recruiting individuals upon receiving bribes of Rs. 20 to 30 Lakhs per post and consequently, completely compromising the efficiency of administration and depriving the meritorious individuals of their public posts,” the GFP claimed.
