PANAJI: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant urged teachers to take school students on trips to science institutes in the state instead of picnics to beaches.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Goa Science Film Festival in Panaji on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said that there are several science institutes in the state, including the Indian Institute of Technology, National Institute of Technology, National Institute of Oceanography and the Goa Science Center.
“Therefore, teachers should take students to these science institutes instead of taking them to the beach for a picnic,” he said.
Sawant said that such trips would inspire students and spark a great interest in science and technology in them.
He said that exposing students to such environments will also nuture their skills and interests in these crucial fields.
The Chief Minister further said that the Goa government has introduced facilities like coding and robotics for students, which have benefited them.
