CORLIM: A 38-year-old man sustained injuries after his scooter was allegedly hit by another two-wheeler being ridden in a rash and negligent manner near the Village Panchayat at Corlim, Tiswadi, on September 20.
According to a complaint lodged by Laxman Zalmi, 38, of Kalajire, Keri, Ponda, the incident occurred at around 12.45 pm when he was travelling towards Agacaim via Carambolim on his Fascino scooter bearing registration number GA05 M 8702.
Police stated that the accused, identified as Freddy D’Souza Miranda, 30, of Mollar, Corlim, was riding an Activa scooter bearing registration number GA07 AR S343 from Church Wada, Corlim, towards Mallar, Corlim. Near the Village Panchayat at Corlim, the accused allegedly rode the scooter rashly and negligently and collided with the complainant’s scooter.
The impact left Zalmi injured in his right hand, shoulder and chest. He was shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, in a 108 ambulance for treatment. His right hand was plastered following the accident, after which he was discharged from the hospital.
The complaint was lodged on September 24 at around 6.39 pm. Further investigation is being carried out by HC-7541 Yogesh Palni.
