CANDOLIM: Police have registered a case against two persons for allegedly obstructing government-authorised PWD work at a work site in Candolim on September 24.
According to a complaint lodged by Michael V. Lobo, Chairman of the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) and MLA of the Calangute constituency, the incident occurred at around 1.30 pm at a PWD work site in Candolim, Bardez.
The complaint states that the accused, identified as Derrick Gonsalves and Glen Fernandes, both residents of Candolim, allegedly came to the government-approved work site with a common intention to obstruct the execution of the authorised public works.
They allegedly used criminal force and threatened and intimidated the contractor, his staff and workers at the site, warning them of dire consequences if they did not stop the work, according to the complaint.
The alleged actions resulted in obstruction and deterrence of the personnel engaged in carrying out government-authorised public works.
The complaint was lodged on September 24 at around 6.32 pm. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Vishwajit Dhavalikar.
