MARGAO: Propedalerz Cycling Club,Margao is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its highly anticipated Duathlon event,Vorrad 4.0,6:60,consisting of 60 kms cycling & 6 kms of Beach run,held on Sunday ,10 th of March,2024 @ 6:45 am at Benaulim Beach Parking Lot.The event, which combined the exhilarating disciplines of Cycling and Running , brought together athletes and enthusiasts from across the State of Goa for a day full of Fun and fitness and camaraderie.
Under the Club’s theme of “Towards A Healthier Bliss”,participants took on the challenge of completing both cycling and running segments, testing their endurance, agility, and determination. From seasoned athletes to first-time participants, individuals of all skill levels came together to push their limits and celebrate the joy of sport.
The event was flagged off by accomplished marathoner, Ultra & trail runner & a well known yoga instructor from Margao Ms Preyasee Chari,in distinguished presence of Brig Arvinder Singh Sawhney, Commandant 2 STC,Goa,in an electrifying atmosphere as participants geared up for the first leg of the Duathlon, the cycling segment. With adrenaline pumping and spirits high, riders embarked on a scenic course that showcased the beauty of our city’s landscapes,from Benaulim beach to Cabo de Rama fort for a turn around to be back at the start point.
Following the cycling segment, athletes seamlessly transitioned to the Beach running leg, where they completed under scorching heat & in the backdrop of the sea.The determination and grit displayed by each participant were truly commendable, embodying the essence of sportsmanship and perseverance.
Thé participants were supported at all points with hydration and nutrition.All finishers were awarded a specially crafted finishers medal by the Club.A total of 175 participants started & completed the event,youngest being 11 yrs old Ankita Naik(supported by parent) & oldest being Alan Abreo @ 65 years.
