With elections written all over it, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Wednesday presented a total populist Budget 2021-22 in the Goa Legislative Assembly today.
The Chief Minister announced creation of 47,000 jobs in the State. He said that 11,000 jobs have been created in government departments and 37,000 in the private sector through Investment Promotion Board.
Besides this, the Chief minister also announced formation of Goa Mining Corporation for early resumption of mining operations in the State.
The Chief Minister also declared the Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan scheme through Railways introduced.
Sawant also said that the government will include cancer treatment in the Mediclaim scheme and the income slab has been increased to five lakhs.
The Budget speech also proposed also forming committees for Goa Bhumiputra Adhikarita scheme for land ownership rights.
The State’s capital expenditure is Rs 25058.,65 cr, Revenue generation is 14787.49. Shockingly, the State has introduced no revenue generating measures.
The CM said the revenue surplus is Rs 58 cr.
New Projects

- Cancer patients will be included in the Mediclaim scheme; Income limit increased to Rs 5 lakh.

- Rs 200 cr for water supply improvement

Mhadei/ WRD
- CM is serious on the issue. Do not do politics. Neighboring states have violated court order and we have approached SC. We will not compromise on Mhadei issue
- Govt has started mapping all water resources be it rivers, springs, lakes, ponds, wells etc.
- Govt to desilt major dams including Selaulim, Anjunem to increase their water storage capacity
Mopa airport
- Work to be completed in August 2022
- Link road to be completed along with the airport
Transport
- 100 more electric buses for Kadamba buses under FAME INDIA II Scheme
- Digital meters for commercial vehicles; Rs 32 cr provision; 3 testing centers
- One time installation of digital fare meters

Power
- Govt committed towards Green energy
- 600 MW of solar and hydro power to be generated
