MAPUSA: Three more women were arrested from a Beauty parlour in Mapusa in the tourist looting and kidnapping case, which is tarnishing the image of Goa worldwide as teh videos have gone viral.
Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte rushed to teh Mapusa police station and ordered directed the police to take strong action against the culprits.
He later told reporters that such incidents spoil the image of Goa, which is an international tourist destination.
According to police, the three arrested are women working in a beauty parlour who lured the Maharashtra youth and took objectionable videos.
On Sunday, Mapusa police arrested three persons for committing dacoity and threatening tourists with dire consequences.
Total arrests is the case is six. Sources said the parlour owner has moved court for anticipatory bail.
As per SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi, he received a complaint from one Pravin Patil N/o Chandgad, Kolhapur informing him that he along with his freinds were stopped by a person at Nr. Bodgeshwar temple Mapusa and taken to a beauty parlour over the pretext of taking them to a nice restaurant. Inside the parlour premises, they were brutally assaulted and robbed of their gold ornaments over the threats of dire consequences and physical injuries. The whole incident happened on 23/05/2022; however, the victims were in a state of fear and didn’t come forward to lodge the complaint immediately.
Accordingly, Mapusa police station immediately registered FIR under sections 147, 504, 323, 395, 506(ii) R/w 34 IPC and nabbed accused persons, namely 1. Sachin Bharadwaj. 2 Ashish Singh, both N/o Haryana and 3. Mubarak Mulla R/o Calangute and placed them under arrest.
Further investigation is in progress with PSI Viraj Korgaokar under the supervision of SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi and SP North Shobit Saxena.
