Vasco: GPCC Vice President Sankalp Amonkar on Tuesday said that the latest reservations had achieved victory for women but he still feels that reservations are not properly done and should have been done as per sequence and rotation as directed by the court. Amonkar said that the petitioners were willing to extend support to people in approaching courts if there was injustice to some who could have been affected by Reservations.
Amonkar also said that Urban Development Minsiter Milind Naik had no right to place women candidates in Mormugao Constituency now because it was only after the petitioners had fought the battle that reservations were granted to the women in the area.
Amonkar said that he would now be approaching peoples courts to seek justice for his candidates to get them elected.
Meanwhile the people also felicitated petitioners Shraddha Amonkar and Shanti Mandrekar for fighting in the courts against injustice for women
Others who spoke on the occasion were Nilesh Navelkar, Shankar Polji and petitioners Shraddha Amonkar and Shanti Mandrekar
