PANJIM: What worse is the State would see than the dreaded virus COVID19 claiming the life a 10-month-old child.
The child, who was initially admitted at Gauns hospital, was discharged yesterday but started feeling breathless this morning.
The parents took him to the Dukle hospital, Calangute and was shifted to Candolim health centre where it was declared brought dead.
“What worse are we to hear more. This is a grim situation. I know the parents personally and the pain and agony they are going through,” said Minister for Waste Management Michael Lobo to Goemkarponn.
He said the overall situation is bad and he have conveyed his sentiments to the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
“This child had no symptoms accept for becoming breathless,” he said.
“We are going to continue with a Strict Lockdown in the Villages of Calangute, Candolim and Arpora Nagoa as per the order passed by respective Panchayats for measures against Pandemics. Kindly do not worry over the availability of essential Commodities,” he told people of his constituency.
He says, people have to have patience for a few days and let this phase pass.
Shockingly, even vaccines are unable to save the patients as on Monday three patients who had taken both doses of vaccines perished while three had taken first dose.
“Out of the total 46, six persons had taken vaccines, who succumbed to the disease,” said doctors.
Monday also saw a death of a 24-year-old youth from Mapusa, 40-year-old male from Bicholim, 46-yr-old male from Vasco, 21-year-old female from Jharkhand, 30-year-old male from Amdai, 43-year-old male from Sanguem, 45-year-old male from St-Inez and 45-year-old male from Quepem.
CM Takes control of Oxygen
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has taken over the control of the Oxygen supply.
The CM Dr Pramod Sawant conducted meeting of the Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD), Health Minister, Oxygen Suppliers and the Dean GMC Dr Shivananad Bandekar.
“All the issues related to the Oxygen would be sorted out by this evening,” Sawant told reporters.
He said that there were some small issues of unavailability of empty cylinders which has now been sorted.
Asked whether he would take over Oxygen supply issue, he replied, “this is a team work and we will work as a team. One man cannot handle everything.”
He also reiterated that majority of deaths are due to delayed treatments.
