Residents of Vagator and Chapora led by Aam Aadmi Party today undertook an inspection of the water tank opposite Anjuna police station as they have not been receiving water for some time and they were surprised to note that the so called new water tank has not yet been inaugurated. Panaji: The Communidade bodies and their components strongly condemn and deplore this attempt by the Government to encroach upon these autonomous village level bodies. Gastro cases have been reported from Bhrama Karmali village of Nagargao Panchayat in Sattari Taluka. The Community Health Centre (CHC) Valpoi has dispatched a team to village to find out the exact reason forGastro cases. The CHC team has collected water and stool samples. The team members said the reports will be available in couple of days. According to villagers around 30 villagers including children have fallen ill complaining of Diarrhea and Vomiting.

This past week, college students from across Goa have been writing open letters welcoming the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) of the Supreme Court, which is visiting the state on the 20th of January — as well as voicing their concerns about the three environmentally destructive projects being undertaken in the protected Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and Mollem National Park (BMWLS and MNP). Curchorem: the body of the XIth standard student, Rajat Suresh Naik, who jumped into river at Curchorem, was fished out by the Indiana Navy and Goa Fire fighters after 24 hours of the incident.
