TALEIGAO: After successfully hosting the 37th National Games Goa, the Sports Minister Govind Gaude today alleged that efforts were made by some to mislead and misinform Chief Minister against him.
“We have successfully hosted the 37th National Games but some efforts were made by some to mislead and misinform Chief Minister Pramod Sawant against him,” said Gaude
He further said that despite this, Chief Minister stood by him during conduct of Nation Games.
“I also thank all the 40 MLAS for their support for National Games. Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai also has appreciated us in conduct of games,” said Gaude
Gaude emphasised that his priority now is to ensure proper utilisation of sports equipment and material procured for the recently concluded 37th National Games in Goa.
“The National Games has ended officially, but our responsibility has increased as the sports equipment and material procured has to be put in place properly,” he added.
Gaude said that the German Hangars have to be removed properly, while cleanliness has to be maintained while clearing the equipment.
“I have given the necessary directions wherever pavers need to be replaced properly. Putting all this in place will be my primary focus. I came to oversee all this,” he said.
Gaude also said that in the coming days, he will be visiting all the venues where the Games were held.
“Today I can say with pride that Goa’s medal tally is higher than ever before,” he added.
Gaude said that the performance of our athletes has been very inspiring.
“I was always confident that our gold medal tally would be far higher than previous editions.” he added
