PORVORIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant launched integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for the Goa Labour Welfare Board and the Goa Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, marking a move towards greater digitisation of labour welfare administration in the state.
The systems, launched at Mantralaya, Porvorim, are designed to bring key processes including worker registration, database management, contribution and cess collection, renewals, welfare scheme processing and monitoring onto digital platforms.
According to the government, the move is intended to reduce paperwork and enable faster processing and delivery of welfare services. The Labour Welfare Board and the construction workers’ welfare board will use the platforms to maintain worker and establishment records and manage welfare-related processes digitally.
Sawant said the systems incorporate features such as e-Sign, DigiLocker integration, online payments, AI-enabled cost validation, blockchain-backed verification, QR authentication and geo-fenced mobile inspections. These features, the government said, are intended to improve transparency, accountability and traceability in the administration of welfare schemes.
The Chief Minister congratulated the two welfare boards and RailTel for the rollout, describing the initiative as a “Digital Kranti” in labour welfare.
He also appealed to eligible workers to register with the respective welfare boards and make use of the benefits and services available to them.
