PANAJI: Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Quepem won both the Men and Women Kho-Kho Championship 2022-23, organized by Goa University at SAG’s Fatorda Ground, Fatorda from 17th to 19th January 2023.
In the well contested Men’s championship finals, Govt. College, Quepem defeated Shree Mallikarjun & Shri. Chetan Manju Desai College, Canacona, with a bare margin of 2 points.
The Women’s championship finals, which was again a repeat of the men’s final, were dominating Govt. College Quepem defeated Shree Mallikarjun College, Canacona, with an inning and 8 points.
Earlier, in the Women’s semifinals, Govt. College, Quepem defeated Swami Vivekanand Vidyaprasarak Mandal’s College of Commerce, Borim, by 7 points. And Shree Mallikarjun College defeated CES College of Arts and Commerce, Cuncolim, by innings and 1 point.
In the Men’s semifinals, Govt. College, Quepem, defeated CES College, Cuncolim, by 1 point. And Shree Mallikarjun College, Canacona, defeated Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola, by innings and 14 points.
In total, 18 men’s and 15 women’s teams participated in the three days Inter College Kho-Kho Championships.
Caitano A. Clemento, Kho-Kho and Kabaddi Coach, Sports Authority of Goa, was the Chief Guest for the presentation ceremony. He presented medals and trophies to the winners and runners-ups.
Govt. College Women’s team: Pramita Velip, Shilpa Velip, Chaya Patil, Ankita Gaonkar, Darshana Velip, Shejal Velip, Reshmila Mishra, Ankita Velip, Sweta Gaonkar, Neha Gaonkar, Dolly Fernandes, Mabel Vaz, Bhakti Patkar and Prarthana Velip.
