PANAJI: Deed of Gift and deed of partition executed in favour of father, mother, brother, sister, wife, husband, daughter, son, grandson or granddaughter, brother-in-law or sister-in-law, nephew, niece, son-in-law or daughter-in-law will now attract registration fee of Rs 5,000 only.
Goa government has issued a notification amending the table of fees to this effect. Earlier Rs 5,000 registration fee was applicable to only few close relations such as son, daughter, father, mother etc.
For others the registration fee was 3% of the property value. “In the Table of Fees, in Article I,— (i) for Note 1B, the following note shall be substituted, namely:— “Note 1B.— The registration fee of Rs. 5000/- shall be levied in case of Deed of Gift executed in favour of father, mother, brother, sister, wife, husband, daughter, son, grandson or granddaughter, brother-in-law or sister-in-law, nephew, niece, son-in-law or daughter-in-law”; (ii) for Note 4 (b), the following note shall be substituted, namely:
“Note 4(b).— The registration fee of Rs. 5000/- shall be leviable in case of Deed of Partition executed with father, mother, brother, sister, wife, husband, daughter, son, grandson or granddaughter, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephew, niece, son-in-law or daughter-in-law.” states the notification.
