PANAJI: Power Minister Sudin Dhavlikar said that he will respond to public inquiries during the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) public hearing, which is scheduled to start on February 2 during the State Legislative Assembly.
Dhavlikar declared, “I will respond to the public in the State Legislative Assembly.” He gave his word that “this government will not do anything to put citizens in trouble.”
According to him, the state is currently undertaking projects worth Rs 3,500 crore, and next year, projects worth Rs 2500 crore are planned.
On January 8 and 9, public hearings for the JERC were held in North and South Goa. Residents of both districts have been fiercely against the increase in tariffs.
Additionally, Dhavlikar disclosed that the State has hired a consultant to replace electric meters with smart meters in accordance with directives.
