RIBANDAR: With ongoing Smart City works, Ribander road has been closed with Barricades and are currently only accessible to Residents of Ribander and Chorao.
“Ribander road has been closed with Barricades. It will be accessible to Residents of Ribander and Chorao. All other commuters can proceed to Old Goa and further ahead via Kadamba Highway,” IPSCDL said in a press statement.
The statement further states that two wheelers will be allowed to proceed via Ribander road for now. Whereas Four wheelers to proceed via Kadamba road.
Vehicle passes will be given out by CCP councillors in Ribandar to enable residents’ private motor vehicle mobility. It was informed that provisions for emergency vehicles, such as ambulances, will be made available 24/7.
The contractors in charge of the project have been directed to give top priority to safety measures, such as strong barriers, legible signage, and enough lighting at every work location.
According to Rodrigues, these steps are intended to reduce risks and guarantee a secure atmosphere for employees, commuters, and efficient traffic flow.
From March 10 to April 30, there will be a road closure from the Basilica of Bom Jesus (Old Goa) junction up the causeway to Divja Circle (Panaji).
