VASCO: A 52-year-old man from Baina, Vasco, died while undergoing treatment at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim, police said.
According to Mormugao Police, a wireless message was received on September 27 from the casualty section of GMC Bambolim informing them about the death of Jerome Jose Figore, a resident of Baina.
Police enquiries revealed that Figore was residing alone in a rented room. On September 23, his friend reportedly shifted him to the Sub-District Hospital at Chicalim after he complained of feeling unwell.
He was subsequently referred to GMC Bambolim for further medical treatment. However, he died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The body was preserved at the South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for further medico-legal formalities.
Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Stanley Gomes of Mormugao Police Station.
