MARGAO: An unidentified man, reportedly a beggar, was found lying near the KTC bus stand in Margao and was later declared dead at the South Goa District Hospital on Sunday night.
According to Fatorda Police, information was received from the casualty section of the South Goa District Hospital, Margao, at around 9 pm on September 27 that an unknown male had been brought to the hospital by a 108 ambulance after being found lying near the KTC bus stand.
Police visited the hospital and, during enquiries, identified the deceased as Hemant Singh, aged around 40 to 45 years. His full name and residential address have not yet been ascertained. Police said he was reportedly a beggar.
An occurrence panchanama and inquest panchanama were conducted over the body. The deceased has been preserved at the South Goa District Hospital for further medico-legal formalities.
Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Sachin Patil of Fatorda Police Station.
